We do provide Cable TV in the living room and two bedrooms.  However we do not provide a phone line or internet connection.  Our reasoning behind this is so that you focus on your vacation.

Our rental is based off whenever you would like to stay whether it is weekends only, weekly or monthly.  There is no set check-in or check-out time for your reserved stay.  You let us know the days you are interested in and if they are available - the price we are extending to you is simply $100 per night.

Now you are probably wondering why we are offering this rental for less.  Well the reason we are charging less than other rentals is because we are giving you the choice to either clean up after yourselves before you depart or pay $150 cleaning fee and then we will take care of the clean up.  Now $150 saved from cleaning will allow you extra money for other adventures on your vacation or several nice dinners as you have great steak and seafood restaurants in the area to choose from.  It is all your choice!

The house is located directly across the street from the beach - approximately a 10 minute walk.  There are other activities on the island or else you can take a short drive to either Beaufort or Emerald Isle where you will find plenty of other activities/adventures in which to have fun and relax.
If you are interested in finding out more about this deal and the availability then please give us a call.  We can be reached at 919-554-3215 or 919-215-8686 or you can email me with your interest (cynthia.merritt@earthlink.net).

Information About Surrounding Beaches
Atlantic-Beach is located between Emerald Isle and Morehead City along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. It is the oldest of five towns located in this region, and was originally the site of a small pavilion built on the beach in 1887, with little more than a refreshment stand and stalls for changing clothes. Today, Atlantic Beach is home to approximately 3,500 permanent residents, and the population swells to around 35,000 during the summer months. The center of town known as "The Circle," is at the southernmost end of the Atlantic Beach Causeway and offers amusement park rides for children, an array of shops and businesses, and plenty of parking for the beach. Aside from swimming, sunning, windsurfing, fishing, and almost any other type of beach activity imaginable, Atlantic Beach is home to the 398-acre Fort Macon State Park. Here, guided tours are given of the fort; there is a museum, nature programs and trails for hiking. The North Carolina Aquarium is located in nearby Pine Knoll Shores, where visitors can get a fun, close-up look at North Carolina's maritime ecosystem. The aquarium features a popular touch tank, a riverbank display with live alligators, canoe trips, interpretive beach walks, excursions to remote barrier islands and much more. If you're looking for a place to bring the family for some good, old-fashioned fun in the sun, Atlantic Beach, North Carolina won't disappoint.
Beaufort is a small, coastal town that sits on the banks of the Newport River along the Atlantic seacoast. Located along North Carolina's gorgeous "Crystal Coast," the historic village of Beaufort is near the Outer Banks and the popular vacation destinations of Nags Head and Atlantic Beach. Beaufort has the distinction of being the third oldest town in North Carolina, founded in 1709. The town's Historic District was officially entered into the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, and one of its most interesting landmarks is the town's Old Burying Ground. Shaded by grand old oaks, it is one of the most picturesque cemeteries in the state. The town also made national headlines in 1997 when news of the wreckage of what is presumed to be Blackbeard's flagship, "Queen Anne's Revenge," was discovered in twenty feet of water - 2 miles from Beaufort Inlet. Beaufort is a friendly, relaxing town, where a great pastime is strolling on the downtown docks to watch the boats on their way up and down the Intracoastal Waterway. All sorts of outdoor activities are available in the area, such as swimming, shelling, boating, kayaking, hiking, biking and more. Nearby attractions include Fort Macon State Park, The North Carolina Maritime Museum, Cape Lookout National Seashore and the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Beaufort holds a number of special events throughout the year, as well, including the Beaufort Music Festival in April and the Historic Tour of Homes in July.
Pine-Knoll-Shores is a residential community located on the Bogue Banks, a barrier island south of the Outer Banks on the Atlantic Coast. The town of Atlantic Beach lies to the east and Indian Beach/Salter path is to the west of Pine Knoll Shores. On the south end of town is a four and a half mile-long sandy beach and to the north is the Bogue Sound. This lovely community is committed to living in harmony with nature and protecting the ocean dunes and maritime forests that surround it. The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores is located here, and offers exciting exhibits and lots of entertainment for families. Dozens of other attractions are in the nearby vicinity, including the Theodore Roosevelt Natural Area and the North Carolina Maritime Museum. Nearby Fort Macon State Park takes visitors back to the Civil War, and the Beaufort State Historic Site transports them to the colonial days. The popular resort town of Atlantic Beach is just east of Pine Knoll Shores, and offers a seaside amusement park and causeway, beach clubs and lots of shopping and restaurants. Emerald Isle overlooks the Bogue Inlet and Sound and is known for its' family-oriented beaches. The Pine Knoll Shores area is full of possibilities - from a walk on the beach to swimming, sailing and birdwatching to relaxing and dining on fresh seafood.
Indian-Beach is a relatively new town, incorporated in 1973, and located in the mid Bogue Banks region. It is the next to the last island in a chain of barrier islands known as the Southern Outer Banks, or the Crystal Coast of North Carolina. Indian Beach is unique in that it is divided in the middle by the unincorporated community of Salter Path, creating an East Indian Beach and a West Indian Beach. This resort town offers visitors beautiful beaches for swimming, sunning, surf fishing and other water sports, as well as restaurants and camping. The Bogue Sound, which separates Indian Beach from the mainland, is exceptional for boaters and anglers. The thirty-mile long Bogue Banks Island is connected to the mainland by two high-rise bridges, one at Morehead City to Atlantic Beach on the east end and another from Cape Carteret to Emerald Isle on the west end. This whole region is a very popular vacation resort area with many rental homes and cottages, condos and hotels in the area. Other nearby attractions include Fort Macon State Park, where guided tours, a museum, nature programs and trails for hiking are available. The North Carolina Aquarium is in nearby Pine Knoll Shores and features a touch tank, a riverbank display with live alligators, canoe trips, interpretive beach walks and excursions to remote barrier islands.
Emerald-Isle is located along North Carolina's Crystal Coast, near Atlantic Beach on the western end of Bogue Banks, with the Bogue Sound dividing it from the mainland. Emerald Isle has long been noted for its family-oriented beaches and salt marshes, and contains an abundance of parks, museums, aquariums and historic tours. The wide, sandy beaches of Emerald Isle are perfect for swimming, sunning and shelling, while other activities in the area include boating and sailing, fishing, horseback riding, kayaking, golf and camping. Readers of "Rodale's Scuba Diving Magazine" have rated the North Carolina coast as North America's best wreck diving destination, and the clear, warm waters just off the coast offer exciting dive opportunities for all skill levels. Birdwatchers also love Emerald Isle where they are enchanted by an abundance of pelicans, gulls, herons and egrets. Fort Macon State Park and the historic town of Beaufort are just 15 minutes away, and the unspoiled, deserted beaches of Cape Lookout National Seashore are nearby. Whatever your expectations for a relaxing, fun-filled beach vacation, Emerald Isle is sure to have it. Don't forget your camera - you'll want to capture the magic of Emerald Isle on film to enjoy for years to come.
Morehead-City is located in Carteret County on North Carolina's central Crystal Coast. It is a mainland seaport town situated on the banks of Newport River, opposite the town of Beaufort. With a rich maritime history, Morehead City is home to several marine research facilities, including The Institute of Marine Sciences and The North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries. Also a deep-water port, Morehead City serves as a port of the Second Division of the US Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune. The town is known for its' fishing and boating and seafood restaurants, with lots of antique shops, boutiques and other specialty shops in the area. Morehead City is also near the Croatan National Forest, Bogue Sound and Intercoastal Waterway, so outdoor recreation is key to the area. Enjoy all types of beach activities such as swimming, sunning, shelling and windsurfing, plus hiking along nature trails at nearby Fort Macon State Park. The community of Atlantic Beach is a short drive from Morehead City and has a beach causeway that offers amusement park rides and a variety of shops, restaurants and other activities. The North Carolina Aquarium is in nearby Pine Knoll Shores, and other attractions within an easy drive from Morehead City includes the North Carolina Maritime Museum, the Beaufort State Historic Site, Cape Lookout National Seashore and the Carteret County Museums of History & Art.
